Pastor: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness!
Congregation: Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, He is God!

Congregation: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Pastor: Give thanks to him;
Congregation: bless his name!
Pastor: For the Lord is good; His love endures forever,
All: and his faithfulness to all generations.

God of overflowing grace, we come to you with repentant hearts.

Forgive us our neglect and thoughtlessness.
Bring us home from the wilderness of sin, and strengthen us to serve you
in all that we do and say; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen

Call to Worship
Pastor: I lift up my eyes to the hills-- from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Congregation: He will not let your foot be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Pastor: He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Congregation: The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
Pastor: The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life.
ALL: The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.
· Hymn #10 “O Worship the King”
Prayer of Confession
Heavenly Father, your words are given to us so we might be reformed and then lead others to you. Your words are offered to us so we might be transformed, yet we instead conform to our culture. Your words are spoken to lead us into new life, but we are too timid to fully embrace it. Forgive us, God of Grace. Do not remember our sins, but continue to touch us with your steadfast mercy. Show us how to be persistent and bold in living out our faith, even as you were so tenacious in offering us your grace and life in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen

Call to Worship (In Unison) (Attributed to Benedict of Nursia -- c. 480-547)
O gracious and holy God, give us diligence to seek you, wisdom to perceive you and patience to wait for you. Grant us, O God, a mind to meditate on you; eyes to behold you; ears to listen for your word; a heart to love you; and a life to proclaim you; through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
· Hymn #526 “He Lives”
Prayer of Confession
Holy God, you called us to life in the Spirit, yet we seek to satisfy the flesh. We call you gracious, yet we
practice greed. We praise you with our lips, O God, yet we do not honor you in our lives. Forgive us as we
allow discontentment and busyness to consume us. Forgive us when we are not authentic or genuine in our
worship of you. Transform our hearts so that we might live to serve you with pure intentions. May our words
match our actions and our thoughts match our beliefs as we seek to follow Christ in our daily lives. Amen
